OQHBF Summer Finale

In Show Highlights by JMQH

The last show in Ontario for the JMQH team was another GREAT one! We had a smaller group for this show – but had lots of fun and excellent accomplishments.

The first major highlight to share is the Showmanship Challenge – where we saw all 5 JMQH exhibitors in the top placings! Hannah Buijs & Lopin To The Bar were CHAMPIONS, Emily Levesque & Charlies Version were RESERVE CHAMPIONS, Julie Scrivo & Harvards Tuition were 3d, Leslie Riley & Just Playin Star were 4th and Christine St. Jean with Zippers Graduate were 7th. What a fabulous night! Thank you to Taylor Longhouse Photography for this fantastic photo!

The next major highlight to share was the $1000 Added NSBA OPEN TRAIL SLOT CLASS – which was WON by Hannah Buijs and Lopin To The Bar. Their first NSBA Trophy and a major WIN for this great team!

Each team also had some top placings to share:

Christine St. Jean & Zippers Graduate – WINS in Rookie Amateur and Novice Amateur Trail, 4th in Amateur Showmanship, 4th NSBA Non Pro Western Pleasure

Leslie Riley & Just Playin Star – WINS in Select Showmanship, Select Equitation, Select Hunter Under Saddle, Open & Amateur Ranch Riding and top placings in Open Trail, Select Trail, Select Horsemanship

Julie Scrivo & Harvards Tuition – 2nd Rookie Amateur Showmanship, 3rd Novice Amateur Showmanship, 5th NSBA Non Pro Western Pleasure and making a great debut in Novice Amateur Equitation!

Hannah Buijs & Lopin To The Bar – WINS in Open Western Riding, Youth Western Riding, Youth Showmanship, Youth Horsemanship, Youth Trail, Youth Western Pleasure and 2nd in Open Trail

Emily Levesque & Charlies Version – Reserve Champion Youth Gelding, top 3 in Youth Showmanship

Thanks as always to the Buijs and Levesque Families for hosting dinners and snacks throughout the show! You guys are awesome!

Unfortunately the entire show was saddened by the loss of a great horse who I had the privilege to work with over the years. Vested in Heaven owned by Jody Pearce and a big part of the Woodley family was killed in a tragic accident during the show. The loss of Ike has hit our horse show family very hard and we are still reeling over it. Jody, Blair, Judi, Justin & Tanya – you are all in our thoughts as we go about our days with our own horses. We know you are all missing a family member and we hope that time will allow you to remember all the great times you had with Ike without as much grief. R.I.P. Ike – you were a ROCK STAR and taken from Jody far too soon…
